
Amiria Gale is a New Zealand
artist from the small east coast town of Tolaga Bay. She
is the eldest of six children. Her father was a fisherman; her family lived
right on the edge of the sea.
At eighteen, Amiria moved to Auckland to study Architecture at the
University of Auckland, gaining a Bachelor of Architectural Studies,
Bachelor of Architecture (First Class Honours) and a Graduate Diploma of
Teaching. Following university, she taught Art and Design to secondary students for
seven years.
Amiria is now a full time artist and writer, producing original, contemporary,
mixed media paintings. She specialises in obesity related artwork,
landscapes / seascapes and portraiture. Examples of her work in progress
