Unless a painting is entirely abstract, Amiria usually begins by identifying an object or scene that has personal relevance and aesthetic appeal. Even in abstract works, specific imagery is often used to inspire drawing style and compositional structure. This shell was used as the source material for 'Boundary', a painting about the illusory boundary that appears to exist between physical objects and bodies.
